I believe that I belong to this field because ever since I was a child I always wanted to make a positive influence in other’s lives. Throughout my childhood I felt the need to care for other’s since I know that I have the power and the choice to do so. I have always had this theory that if you have the knowledge and ability to achieve a goal then that’s what you should reach for. As a child and teenager I suffered a few server illnesses and was hospitalized. Being there made me scared but encountering the nice nursing staff and doctors made me feel more secure.
My passion grew towards nursing as I started taking more and more classes. After graduating with nursing degree, I accepted a nursing position in a medical-telemetry unit of a mid-size hospital. Then I have decided to do travel nursing job. With my travel nursing assignments, I had the opportunities to work in different areas like medical surgical, intensive care unit, telemetry, orthopedics, rehabilitation and oncology. Also I had the opportunities to work in a hospice and research clinic through my agency.
She thought that was the best idea and would tell me all of the wonderful things nurses would do. Naturally I lo e helping people and as a child I knew that grandma also knew. We would play pretend and I was always the nurse and she was always my patient. So even from a very young age I have been told and encouraged to grow and do wonderful things with my life and if being a nurse is what I wanted then that’s what I could be. As I grew older I would always love to watch the Discovery Channel, watching Discovery Health and a show Called Birthday.
I also feel that there is not only medical help that patients ask for from nurses but attention, care and sympathy which I feel that I could distribute. I also have a genuine concern for the sick and the wounded. Taken together, these several factors clenched my decision to pursue nursing. I have chosen to pursue baccalaureate preparation in nursing for one it is a stepping stone to receiving a master’s degree in nursing which I am very interested in obtaining. Also having the baccalaureate degree in nursing gives me more opportunities in the competitive career world.
One passion, simple but strong that has governed my life is my interest in health sciences. Nursing is all about passion and dedication. Passion to acquire knowledge and be able to understand the complexity of the human body. Dedication to helping people and making a difference in their lives. I would love to have the opportunity to graduate from nursing, because I have a strong desire to help people and make a difference in the quality of their lives every day.
Research Paper- CHE125 Allison Leigeb The medical field is one of the most important aspects of our society today. It’s a fact that there will always be a need for medical attention and healthcare, no matter the state of the economy or the size of a population. The two careers I decided to research are both in the medical field, and both are stable jobs that have an ultimate goal of helping people heal. They are an orthopedic surgeon and a physician’s assistant. I have personal experience with learning about these two jobs- I shadowed numerous orthopedic sports medicine surgeons and physician’s assistants during my senior year of high school as part as an academic internship.
Becoming a nurse will make each day a great difference, not only for me, but for the patients I will be taking care of. I know I can help others by providing them with love, care, and ensuring them I will never give up on them. Once I am able to progress in my major and earn my college degree in nursing, it will not only make me a better person, but enable me to reach out to others that are in great need of
However, it was not until after the second surgery and the second cycle of physical therapy that I realized the benefit and importance of physical therapy on my life. Today, after two surgeries, I am able to participate in almost all of the activities that I love due to the success of rehabilitation exercises. I believe it was my positive experience with physical therapy that led to my interest and passion for physical therapy as a career. And so my educational goals and career goals center around the health sciences, working hard to earn my undergraduate degree in kinesiology with a pre-professional track and hoping eventually to apply, matriculate, and earn my graduate degree in physical therapy. I hope my educational and career goals also satisfy my personal goals of becoming a successful individual with strong morals and goals, hoping to work with people and work in the field that helped me.
Here I gained an insight into how MRI and NMR machines help to detect and cure cancer. Witnessing so many terminally ill patients was at times distressing but the whole experience reinforced my desire to pursue Medicine. To further my experience I shadowed a Practice Nurse at the Manchester Royal Infirmary for two weeks. I learnt a lot about the general workings of a hospital and what, in essence, it is like to be a doctor. I observed morning rounds; the Free Clinic, the A&E, the Colorectal Ward and various other departments.
I am very willing to achieve this big responsibility. I am eager to be there for the patients through illness, injury pain, loss, grieving, birth, growth, aging and health. Another reason for my decision to become a nurse are my kids and my family. They
