Social media and various forms of technology have extended over the past few decades, resulting in a greater reliance and exposure to technology in young children’s lives (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists [RANZP], 2011). Considering the constant access to the digital realm for children, young people have continuous access to the beneficial attributes associated with social media and education provided through information technology. Evidently, the mutual benefits of social media and information technology have been recently renowned for creating a positive impact on young people’s lives (RANZP, 2011). Health associated with youth and children is often diversely promoted. The advertisement by the Department of Health and Ageing ‘Go for 2&5’ strongly serves to promote healthy eating in Australia, where obesity and diabetes have devastatingly peeked and become a national epidemic (Rowan, 2013).
