I would assist the residents in personal care, this can include washing, dressing, toilet need and eating. I would also respond to any calls made from the residents to me in an efficient manner. Any incidents or unexplained injuries that may happen I would report to the nurse or manager in charge. I would ensure that the residents would be presentable in their appearance at all times.

Unit 305 Outcome 1) 1) Person centred values ensure that each individual resident receives adequate care based on their personal wants and needs. Person centred values make sure that the care is planned around a specific individual and that they are at the heart of every decision. Throughout a health and social care setting being able to demonstrate person centred care can involve professionals, families, the individual and carers. Aspects of daily care should involve person centred values because each resident is different and will need to be treated as an individual. As a carer I demonstrate person centred values by relating to what each resident would like, what care they need, what assistance they will accept and treating each resident as a separate person but at the same time treating everyone equally.
There are a number of ways that personnel’s can prevent and control infection in a health and social care setting. Personnel’s in a health and social care setting include , nurses , Doctors, cleaners, nursery assistants and nursery teachers. Nurses should thoroughly wash and dry their hands before and after caring for a patient, before and after touching any potentially contaminated equipment or dressings, after bed making and before handling food. Their hands can be washed with soap and water or, a fast-acting antiseptic solution like a hand wipe or hand gel. They should also wear Disposable gloves when physical contact with open wounds, for example when changing dressings, handling needles or inserting an intravenous drip.
In my role, I encourage and assist Service Users with personal care, cooking, administering medication, cleaning and laundry. My field care supervisor goes to the clients home and does their care plans and risk assessments. My duties are varied and I am required to assess, adapt and provide support with various situations that may arise, ensuring all emotional and physical needs of the Service User are met. Person centered approaches involves hierarchy of needs, physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, self-esteem needs, self-actualisation and promoting wellbeing. Person-centred care also means treating resident with dementia with dignity and respect.Person centered care should be supported by relatives as well as all staff.
