Local authorities along with the health and safety executive are responsible for enforcing the act. Manual Handling operations regulations 1992 – This regulation is in place to reduce the risk of injury through manual handling tasks. It applies to a wide range of tasks such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying.
