In the world of diet trends, books, pills, and supplements, the customer is sometimes fooled into buying a product, resulting in no measurable satisfaction; yet the customer continues to repeat business. This is the magic of this industry, where the consumer often times blame themselves for the inadequacies of the product, and therefore believes that another potential product would better suit their needs. The health industry is saturated with know-it-all doctors, who utilize their degree in medicine to create a sense of credibility that does not necessarily exist. With a clever marketing scheme and the ability to convince the public of the “toxic” substances that pervade the foods they eat, some entrepreneurs are able to deceive individuals into believing their diet plan is the “cure-all” method. However, the entire health and fitness industry is not particularly geared towards dieting books and fads. There are programs being built by legitimate sponsors that are attempting to bring a more activity-based type of environment to work areas. The work atmosphere is typically one of stress, and, in some cases, idleness. The product of these two factors can ultimately derive a variety of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, and immune deficiencies. Thus, with the help of these office-related exercise programs, employers are undertaking the responsibility of taking care of their employees and providing a health-conscious work setting.
