Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet
For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.
Physical health: Is being able to endure the normal activities of life on a routine basis. Eating a balanced meals- helps me to eat fruits, whole grains and vegetables so, I can remain healthy and so my body can function properly instead of eating junk food.
Social health: Is being able to interact with others in socially accepted manner. Hanging out with friends and family- helps me to interact with other peoples on a healthy level.
Intellectual health: Is being able to clear your mind and focus on task at a time and to use critical thinking skills. Managering my time effectively and well- enable me to focus and keep a clear mind of the tasks ahead of me such as my school work. I like to hear different ideas and viewpoints.
Environmental health: Is being able to appreciate your surrounding enough to take part of a small action to improve the environment. Cleaning my house and the lawn- helps maintain the bacteria of dust and dirt from building up to cause me to get sick.
Emotional health: Is being able to control emotions appropriately. Showing love and appreciate- teaches me how to have a positive self-image and a strong mental attitude.
Spiritual health: Is being able to connect with a power higher than yourself. Church- enable me to feel a deeper connection with something which is (God) higher than myself.
