Life seems to take many twists and turns that somehow mesh into each other to form a chaotic knot of happenings. All of these occurrences are supposed to shape you into a wiser more experienced person. In every person’s life, there comes an experience, a person, or an event that will change their life. Whether it’s for the better, or for the worse, their life will indeed be altered permanently. Many people can even pin point the exact moment in their life which was forever changed by a single event. For some, this life changing entity might be the birth of a new sibling, a job opportunity, the loss of a loved one, or even just finally finding the place where you feel at home. When that event happens it becomes an unforgettable memory for you and teaches you a lesson that becomes one of the basic guidelines in your life. The event that forever changed me and was most significant was, as silly and childish as it might sound; my life changed the day I first read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Now, I know that most people will think that my reading a book couldn’t have possibly significantly affected my life, but really, they couldn’t be more wrong. In order to give off the full effect, I suppose I should start at the beginning, on that fateful day in 2009. January 12, 2009 didn’t start out as anything special; my 8th birthday had passed 2 weeks and 4 days before, and the next special celebration for my family wasn’t for another week. I went to ISC (International School of Choueifat) as I had been for the past 5 months, attended my Math and Science classes, and then stopped at the library before going to Art, Design and Tech. The minute I walked in, I was welcomed by the ink and paper aroma that I know and love. The first shelf on the right when entering the library was the place I looked first in my search for a book.
