Slavery is a major case where human rights have been abused. Many black people were beaten, raped and had no right of freedom. Slaves lived in such poor living conditions and did not have the perfect lifestyle as others. Many slaves protested and resisted from the abused matter, but only few succeeded to receive their right. She was famed for her risk taking missions for others. Nineteen times she returned to the southern states where she was a wanted escaper. She bought out as many as 300 slaves including her family. Many times she was nearly caught and she had learnt that only the tough way could make it. Tubman was an inventive conductor. She drugged babies so they would not alert searchers with their cries; carried around a revolver and threatened to use it on any of the runaways who decided to give up. It was dangerous business but her toughness is what made her successful. Tubman was known as Moses, the one who led people from slavery to freedom. In Northern states, black and whites campaigned against slavery. In Britain the campaign for the abolition of slavery worked. White and free blacks fought much longer for abolition in the United States. Southern states of America depended on slave labour for their plantation economy. Free blacks and whites made their cause known by producing newspapers and a journal concerning slavery and political pressure was used wherever possible. Petitions were a useful form of political pressure that had an important effect in the campaign.
