1. How does the text book define a theory? In the book it lists five definitions from the Websters dictionary, they are 1.) the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another. 2.) the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art. 3.) a plausible or scientifically acceptable general principle or body of principles offered to explain phenomena. 4.) a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation. 5.) abstract thought.
2. How does the text book define learning? The act or process by which behavioral change, knowledge, skills, and attitudes are acquired.
3. What is the connection between theory and practice? A theory is an idea of something and practice is putting action to that idea to make something happen, so without theory there is no practice.
4. What is the essential difference between the concepts of education and learning? The concept of education is that everyone learns the same way by the same lesson, but we don't because we all learn in our own individual ways. So the big difference between the two are that we learn in our ways so a set education lesson does not work.
