Does a boss have a major role in creating a workplace environment? Does the environment created by the boss really have an effect on the quality of work produced by his employees? Employees who work for a good boss are usually happier, and more relaxed when at work. They are more confident in their abilities, and are more inspired to have good work ethics. They are motivated to meet deadlines, and take pride in the work they do. A stress free environment helps employees to remain focused, allowing them to produce higher quality work. Employees who work for a bad boss can be anxious, and unable to concentrate on the task at hand. They dread any type of contact with their boss, and focus more on avoiding the boss than they do on product quality, and meeting deadlines. A hostile, or stressful environment, leaves employees tense and moody, this in turn negatively affects production. The difference between a good boss and a bad boss is the environment they create for their employees, which affects work quality and production. A good boss keeps an open line of communication with his employees. He has an open-door policy and is always available to listen to employees. He meets regularly with employees and invites them to share their ideas and opinions. This leaves the employees feeling appreciated, and valued. This influences them to work harder, thus making them more productive. A bad boss does not effectively communicate with his employees. He has a closed-door policy, and is quite rude to employees if he is interrupted. He does not solicit any type of positive interaction with employees.
