If professionals have negative thoughts about their service users, it will affect the way they treat and care for them, This will not promote an anti discriminatory practice because the service user is being treated differently due to the service providers own opinions and views. Past events can affect anti-discriminatory practice being put in place; an example of this could be that if the service provider has experienced something awful in their caring situation of a certain ethnic background, there are chances of the service provider failing to provide an active and caring service to the user. Health and well being can also influence the way the service providers provide care for the service users. An example of this could be that if the patient is gay and the service provider puts their health documents at the bottom because they don’t want to treat a gay person. This will not promote an anti discriminatory practice because the service provider is failing to treat the person because of their sexual orientation.
Describe and evaluate two approaches to the treatment of self-defeating behaviour Words in total:2463 In This essay I will define and give an example of self defeating behaviour. I will also describe and evaluate different approaches to it’s treatment in counselling. “But behaviour in the human being is sometimes a defence a way of concealing motives and thoughts as language can be a way of hiding your thoughts and preventing communication.” Abraham Maslow Ever wondered why people engage in seemingly self-destructive behaviour? That is, why do people do things that appear to be against their best interests? Why do they continue to engage in troublesome behaviour even though it consistently leads them into a state of utter misery?
In Newman’s study some possible issues that could have emerged were confidentiality, No harm, Deception and analysis and reporting. Confidentiality could have been an issue because she can identify persons given responses but not to do so publicly. She can ruin someone’s life if someone found out that it was there response. And by that happening she would cross another ethical issue called no-harm. Deception is often used but it is not supposed to be.

If a service user is not being given their independence (to the best of their ability) and they are forced to do what they’ve been told to do will cause problems to their right of freedom. This can lead onto many problems causing the service users to become distressed and agitated, which may then also impact on family visits if the user’s behavioural pattern has changed. If the service user is being harmed
What did you do? Give an example. How did you prepare for it? How did you present your position? How did you resolve it?
I believe that this study was not ethical to conduct because it directly harmed another person just to get a statistic and a person would always get hurt based on the fact that human behavior follows normative influence almost every time. A reason for an ethics board to not approve a test like this one could be to just define ethics in itself, and use that explanation for your whole argument. Ethics is defined as a branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions (Dictionary.com, LLC. For example, the Carers of disabled older people may need to seek residential respite placements due to barriers experienced in accessing local facilities. Lastly, anti-discriminatory practice is a means of demonstrating respect towards others that forms the basis of trusting working relationships. Discrimination involves a range of processes and takes place on a number of levels: personal, cultural and structural (Thompson 2001). On a personal level, discrimination is evident through personal prejudice. An example would be the use of derogatory racist language or assumptions, such as ‘all fat people are stupid or
I think this might be why some people communicate passively because they have had a negative experience with this, and maybe it made things negative for them or changed things into a horrible situation. This can easily happen. There is no way to be
