Private: You had to go three months earlier than him because of his job. Imagine if you hadn’t. You’d almost be home and married by now! Public: We realized we weren't right for each other. Private: But once you broke out of that circle of everyday life everything changed. You realized you didn’t want to be a housewife quite yet. You realized you and Ron wanted different things. Public: Things are different now we're not students anymore. Private: So you stayed in Australia for the whole year! You had a ball! You want to live there now don’t you. I know you’re denying it; saying you’re only applying for a four year residency… but you know you’re not coming home! Eimear: Are you still friends with him? Private: Think you should tell your family about that little fact; that you’re not coming home? They expected you to go to Australia for a few months, get engaged to Ron, have a bit of a tour of the world and come home to play happy families! Instead you broke up with Ron, spent a year in Australia and now you’re moving there for good! Well done wee woman! Public: Yes...we're still friends. [Pause] Eimear: Breakfast? Public: Sure!
