Gods Must Be Crazy The Gods must be Crazy is a South African comedy released in 1980 and became a big hit. The snapshot is most interesting for what was not filmed and the absence of many important issues. The film was not only successful in South Africa, but grossed millions world-wide. It influenced viewers in the early 1980s and people of today due to cable television and streaming media. A lot of viewers in the most core countries never believe that there are people in this world ignorant about human development to use of meal tools. The San people are repeatedly shown as healthy hunter-gathers. At the time of the filming, the apartheid system distributed all the peoples of South Africa into racial groups and legislated that each had its own culture while making white culture dominate. The plot took place in the Kalahari Desert where the sans believed that an empty Coke bottle was a gift from God. They then felt that this was an evil thing, as it has resulted in conflicts within the tribe; but to my own concept I really wonder of how they make use of the bottle, the bottle becomes a very unique tool that they use for different purposes. One man’s trash becomes another man’s pleasure. This is very relevant to the anthropologists because it directly reveals the life of people living in this world today never knew that there are metal tools, cities or planes that fly. The main character, Xi, then went on a journey to throw the bottle away and this was when he first met the whites. First, the movie brings across an interesting view. It portrayed modernization, as something evil. The Coke bottle, perhaps a representation of modernity, had given rise to conflicts. Without it, all things were cheery and peaceful.
