Glue is a substance that is used to bond one object to another. There are many types of glues. Some examples would be super glue, wooden glue, and paper glue. Glue is mainly made from water. To finish the product, they add many chemicals and materials such as coagulants and adhesives. The first type of glue found was made from tree sap in 4000 B.C. Before glue was made in factories, glues were made by hand from blending animals such as fish. People would use the animal’s body fat to make the adhesives for the glue. In 1750, adhesives were added to glue in Great Britain. In 1942, Dr. Harry Coover invented the super glue by his discovery of cyanoacrylate. The word glue means to join or fasten together. Glue is made from water. Factories add coagulants and adhesives to the glue. In glue, adhesives are used to stick to the surfaces the glue is being applied to. Glue is made from components in nature such as petroleum and natural gases. When all the ingredients are put together, you get your glue. There are many types of glues. Wood glue is used to apply wood together and create a perfect bond to the wood. Metal glue is used to glue metal together. Super glue is use to bump up your strength on glue. Super glue’s main ingredient is cyanoacrylate. By adding water, the cyanoacrylate makes the glue super strong. There are many other types of glues for many other different purposes. In conclusion, Glue is used to put or bond things together. There are many types of things you can use glue on. Adhesives were added to glue in 1750.
