Global Warming Over the past few years the people of the United States have heard much on global warming. The citizens have been told if they do not stop burning fossil fuels and start conserving the atmosphere there is going to be a drastic change in the patterns of the climate. If action was taken now to reduce the build-up of the greenhouse gasses it would lessen the rate of climate change. Many scientists think that even if the humans stopped using fossil fuels today and the greenhouse gas emissions were stopped right now, the climate would still continue to change. The damage is already done for several years to come and cannot be reversed. It will take several years to counter act the affect that humans have already caused. Scientists also contend the massive deforestation that has occurred world-wide has played a major part in the build-up of carbon dioxide. According to the scientists the increase of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide since the preindustrial levels has caused rising surface air temperatures and sub-surface ocean temperatures. Scientists claim most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to mankind and human activities. I believe this could be a moral matter if a person believed they had anything to do directly with the climate change. They could think they were directly responsible in some way for the greenhouse effect by the burning of fossil fuels. The majority of the public is not responsible for the greenhouse effect or the deforestation that has occurred world-wide. The community would have to burn a large amount in order to do the amount of damage that is being talked about. The community has the privilege of utilizing the cheaper electric rates of hydropower. I do not believe that we are responsible for this greenhouse effect; thusly it is not a moral matter to me. I believe that the climate is changing
