The huge black market for alcohol controlled by crime organizations grew so large that many of the criminal groups were able to build their empires mainly on profits from illegal alcohol. This in turn made them grow in power and their influence on society increased. Many politicians and law enforcements became corrupt, and turned a blind eye to the illegal activity since they were bribed. Prohibition also led to economic consequences. Before the liquor ban, many states relied on tax revenues, and when Prohibition went into effect, those revenues were lost- causing the United Nations to lose 11 billion

III Main Point 2 The Great Depression was solitified with the decrease of income from the taxation of alcohol. The country relies on every tax it creates and once the country starts to reduce taxes, the economy faces a domino effect financially. • The beginning of the Great Depression In the late 1920’s caused a huge change in American opinion about Prohibition. • The Economy’s issues had crippled the country financially; legalizing Alcohol could provide some relief as a taxable product as it once was.
The US imports and exports a majority of items which increase the wealth of the country as well as strengthening relationships with other traders. However the US does use their trading methods in unfair ways to maintain their ultimate superpower status. An example of this would be the debt repayments of the World Bank. After WW2 had ended, Europe needed to be rebuilt so the World Bank borrowed the money in order from Europe to be rebuilt. However when Europe agreed to borrowing the money from the World Bank, they also agreed for the US to have access to the European markets, raw material and resources.

So many other things like court cases and the tariff of 1816 and 1828 influence economy through the federal government and even though out economy isn’t the best now, all these examples would’ve left us with no economy at all. Without them, we’d be worse off than we are
