If ongoing pollution cannot be reduced, then the climate is just going to keep getting worse day by day. As a result, not only will a single nation be suffering, but also the entire planet will change due to global warming. Of course, if people can make efficient adaptation plans to control the ongoing global warming and climate change, in the future it can prevent the threat of global warming and many other climate change issues. After all, the consciousness that man could alter the climate of Earth has dawned slowly on their awareness. Work Cited Begley, Sharon.
One more similarity is the equipment they used to get the results for example they both used temperatureDetermining global warming effects on weather can be done in many different in these two articles I found that you can use ice or water. In the rising of the seas they explain how the melting of the ice caps raise the sea level but in the greenhouse. It breaks down how they can use ice to determine the future weather. Global warming is something more people need to be aware of and get more knowledge on, because after reading these two articles I found out what our world might become just by looking into the past. These two article had there similarities and differences in how they go about finding out about the past but yet both are very
Since extraction is being done in foreign nations, why should the Canadian government intervene? It should be the job of the government of that nation to protect its people. If more intervention is to occur it would hurt Canada’s extraction industry, which is also one of Canada’s largest industries bringing in a lot of wealth and opportunity to our country. According to the neoclassical approach, much of this would have not been possible. With more government intervention, potential multi billion dollar extractions could be put on hold or completely lost due to villagers in that area who refuse to move.
Basically its the debate of who owns the Arctic. ! The Arctic used to be a boring place with only polar bears and Santa Claus and no one except canada wanted it. Now, due to all the “global warming” as some like to call it many more countries are becoming interested. With less ice, big ships will now be able to travel through the Arctic instead of going around it when importing and exporting things to different countries.
Nhi Dinh Randy Conine Argument Essay Dec 1st, 2013 Global Warming People want to live happier and healthier; therefore, they try to make a lot of new products to serve life. Unfortunately, the more they do, the worse the earth becomes. The climate is becoming warmer, which causes many disasters. Protection the environment is an extremely serious issue. As the first industrialized country in the world, America has not reduced its industrial waste production into water and the air.
The Arctic is becoming a high commodity area for shipping and transport since it will greatly reduce trans-ocean routes for a more economical and environmental aspect. The Arctic Council says, “Currently the main driving force for shipping trough the Arctic Sea is transport of oil or gas from Arctic Russia. The discussion on Trans-Arctic shipping evolves, however, also around the issues of global warming, Greenhouse Gas emission restrictions, changes in the geopolitical landscape, possible exploitation of fossil fuel fields in the Arctic and sustainable development in the Arctic” (Shipping Portal). With of the extraction of oil and gas through the Artic it provides the Arctic nations with a rare opportunity to form the future of shipping in the north and hopefully reduce the chances of environmental risks in an area prone to devastation. Talking as a class in the Arctic Council simulation, I truly believe that there needs to be a subgroup of all eight nations working together to ensure ships are obeying the laws of the north and if not are subject to consequences and possible Arctic shipping termination.
Furthermore, online participation denoted that the paleoclimate graphs show correlation of CO2 and temperature are not clear doer. As additional challenge, James Balog (2009) provided data which seems the less likely with the accuracy. As for instance, he acknowledged how twenty years ago, the small ice-mass responded rapidly to climate in Greenland; this gradually start to react to the changes then followed by a huge increase of temperature ( 14.29). So what causes the rise of the two decades from the past? It appeared that his claim is merely an
The saddest part of the Illinois mine disaster is that 111 lives have been altered forever in order for the government to be “politically correct” instead of doing what should have be done without even thinking of their own positions and how it would affect them. Considerations should have been taken into account on how the lives of the miners would be affected forever should an explosion took place. There were many that could have prevented the disaster on March 25, 1947. (Illinois Labor History Society, 2012) Scanlan could have taken a more proactive course of action and taken his reports to even a higher level of officials and government. He could not have let it rest that the mine was not safe.
The effect of global warming on the polar bear population and lack of substantial measures to stop the extinction of this species has resulted in public outcry in recent years. However, Wente argues that the public is being deceived by scientists who have become fixated on manipulating the plight of the polar bears to obtain “more media face-time” (par.11) instead of conducting “actual polar bear research” (par.11). Wente references researchers Zac Unger and Kelsey Eliasson to assert that, contrary to popular belief, the polar-bear population is not declining and in fact much bigger than it were 40 years ago. The most effective technique employed in Wente’s persuasive strategy is her appeal to emotion. Wente understands that her audience is particularly sensitive about the state of the polar bears so she opens with a dramatic claim that polar bears will soon be “only left in the zoos” (par.1) and the population will decline by “two-thirds by mid-century” (par.1).
I would say, from a scientific perspective, it is crystal clear that the employees of the public affairs sector should be inundated with concern for global warming; however, current policy proves otherwise. The segregation or integration of politics and public policy have their pros and cons. Unfortunately, politics rarely exclude personal agendas. Therefore, the issue of global warming gets clouded by other political and personal endeavors that are much more tangible and relevant; which is opposite of global warming’s evasive traits to the “untrained eye”. Political and personal agendas are not a new characteristic of the population.
