1) Gender issues are an ongoing that debate that has started long before my generation was born and will continue long after. In Wood’s epilogue she stated that throughout the book we have seen that social order and meanings are created in daily messages that remind us what society as feminine and masculine, what is expected of men and women ad what rights, values and opportunities that is applied on each gender. In Julia’s book she has invited us to get out of the stereotype way of seeing things, become an active critical member of the society and challenge the ones that are limiting the quality of our individuals. Lastly, she wants us to become more aware of this gender movement regardless of whether you embrace a traditional or a less conventional view of men and women. Because at the end of the day, we are all part of a gendered society, gendered World.

  2) In the year 1800’s and 1900’s, laws in the constitution were changed so that women would obtain full legal status and rights to do what they please, to become what they dream of with no gender restrictions. My parents’ generation challenged some of those laws that were limiting opportunities to both men and women. I remember my mother after completing her master’s degree in education, she was cancelled the opportunity to be the director of her own school because she was a woman. She challenged that law and now today she has her own school that she has been directing for the past 35 years. Thanks to her and other women, and men in this generation fighting for those gender inequities. Women of my generation has benefited from the educational, professional, social rights that are available to them. But it doesn’t stop there; my generation has its own issues to deal with in the future.   As I said in the introduction, this is an issue that will be last long after we are gone. What I see lying in the future is how branches of sexes, language and culture favors some people while at the same time abusing...
