Let talk about what the word marriage mean. When growing up you were taught that marriage was suppose too between a man and women. When you look at Gay marriage the only different is two people of the same sex, has falling in love with each other. Who are we to say that Gay marriage is right or wrong?
When thinking about gay marriages have always been a dilemma for people. When a poll was took, “there are around 8 million individuals who identity as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, representing 3.4% of total population” (Gates & Newport 2012 par. 1 pg.45). When growing girls were growing up and having feeling for the same sex. Could you image how confusing this was for that persons? Then image when you got older you had to tell your parents and friends you’re gay. How would you feel about having to explain, that you’re in love with someone of the same sex? Would you be able to tell everyone that you wanted to get married; know how society see same sex marriage? When it comes down to gay people they deserve to be married to the person that they love. Why should it be any different just because they fell in love with the same sex? The study found that cohort attitude became more tolerant over 20 years span, and that there was a negative correlation between age level of acceptance (Madrid & Rice 2013 par. 2 pg. 46).
Religion plays a big roll into marriage, when looking at the bible God made Adam and Eve. So it’s hard for people to expect that to people of the same sex should be married. When looking back at the bible this is why so many people have a hard time with two people of the same sex being married. When looking at gay marriage they should be able to marriage who they love no matter who it is.
