When I decided to go back to school, knew that college would help me refresh my brain in certain areas that I may need improvement on. I also returned to school because I want a job that will fit with me. Since I have been out of high school, I have had quite a few jobs. The jobs that were employed at, I knew that those jobs were what I did not want to have a career out of for the rest of my life. So, after all the different jobs I had back to back and me not being satisfied with either one.
I believe that year-round schools should be at least an option in our district. First off, and very important to the students is that a year-round school gives students and teachers with a break every 2 months or so. Additionally, if we had the option of a year-round school then it would help to prevent some students from being taken out of school often for a family vacation to Mammoth or Mexico. Lastly, a year-round school would give the teachers a more time for teaching, ultimately letting them cover the required material more thoroughly. I believe that now is the time to change our educational system as we know it for the benefit of teachers, students and their parents!
In my opinion I think I like all year around in school. If kids really look at it, we get alota days out for a break. Many schools also need to come on there education because the drop out rate may come back up if it already haven’t. Many schools say they do many things to help students and they really care about the students, blah blah blah, some schools are just all talk. Schools have at least a hand full of teachers that really care about the students life after high school, some teachers make sure that there students go to college and some don’t even care what goes on when were out of there classroom.
You get to meet new people and actually be in the real world. It makes me have different views about my life other than what I had in my head about three years ago. I hope that my college life will be successful and I will learn lots of new things within the years. Now my last English experience was kind of a disaster, but I did learn a few things that I didn’t know that was important. I learned how to write a topic sentence and what its purpose was to it.
They were one step closer to making it to the top By the time griffon got into high school he decided that he needed to take some designated classes, one which would help him find a career. He took a test in this class that said that his career would be in artistic fields. He also took guitar, choir, and business classes. In order to become a musician you don’t need education but knowledge is strongly recommended because in the music business you are your own boss. The reason why high school courses are important is because the more education you have the more a record company will want to hire you.
Learning Against Grades In this society, students are encouraged to pursue a higher education after graduating from high school. Yet, each individual has a different reason for desiring to move on to college. Students attend college either because they want to increase their knowledge, get a decent paying job after college, or they just want to get the “college” experience instead of going on to the working force after high school. As a first-year college student, I pictured college to be a “… place for learning and growth…” (Jerry Faber, 387), but I was slightly wrong. Everyday I stress over earning a good grade in my classes, instead of being driven to learn the material of the course.
The Working Class Another benefit of having a job in high school is that teens are better prepared for college. Time management plays a major role on the success of any college student because they will have to divide their time into different sections, for example, to study, to do homework, to go out with friends, some to go to work, or even to catch up on some sleeping. Once in college, everyone is expected to be mature and to know how to make choices on their own; everyone must be responsible for their own acts and the decisions they make. One out of four freshman college students drop out within the first few months of their post secondary education; this shows that they had not ever taken a big challenge before. Before discussing how teachers can motivate seniors, it is important to look at the different types of senior students a teacher may experience. First are college-bound seniors who by their second semester have already been accepted to a college or university and know that it is very unlikely that they will be turned away based on their last semester grades unless they fail (Kelly, 2007). Students who have this attitude need to realize that many college applications require you to list your senior courses, including information about course levels and credit hours. It will be very obvious to the admission officers if you've decided to take the year off. Many colleges also include as part of the application a form called the mid-year grade report.
Mandating national service will help reduce national debt. High school graduates only have a vague idea of what they want to do. They spend the government’s money at an expensive four-year university where they ponder life and party instead of focusing on what they need to do with the rest of their lives. With this proposal of a mandatory service, these young adults would be able to mature over this time and also get an idea of what they would like to study further in
And by graduating they would probably be more ambitious about education and be more likely to pursue a college education. Developing more alternative schools would also be beneficial because everybody’s life circumstances are different. Many students need to work while going to school to support their families, some need to stay home and watch their younger siblings while their parent work very demanding hours, many teenage girls end up pregnant. Alternative schools can offer flexible hours and weekend schedules for students to participate in what’s called credit recovery; also there is more one on one interaction that is sometime not always accessible in large
