Future Issues That Will Impact Employee Training BUS 375 Employee Training June 17, 2012 There are many future issues that will impact employee training both negatively and positively. Training is very important to new and existing employees because in order to be successful in an organization, employees need to gain the knowledge and skills that are needed to perform their job duties. If training is not done effectively, it will affect the trainee and they will not obtain those skills needed, which is crucial for themselves and the organization. Not all issues are negative. There are also many positive issues that enhance employee training, making it easier for them to accomplish the training process. One of the most positive aspects of employee training is the use of technology, such as online learning, iPads, computers, mobile learning. These have all become increasingly popular in recent times and will continue to grow, making it easier for organizations to train their employees. Noe states several reasons as to why the use of technology has become so popular. “First, the cost of technology will decrease. Second, companies can use technology to better prepare employees, to serve customers, and to generate new business. Third, the use of new technologies can substantially reduce training costs related to bringing geographically dispersed employees to one central training location. Fourth, these technologies allow employees to build into training many of the desirable features of a learning environment. Fifth, as companies employ more contingent employees and offer more alternative work arrangements, technology will allow training to be delivered to any place at any time.” (Noe, 2010, p. 525).
