Fun Winter Weekend Weekends come and go so fast, but as a family we try to make the weekends very special for our kids. This particular weekend we did a lot of outdoor winter activities with our children. Friday night, my husband specifically told our two older boys to bundle up, put on extra layers of clothing, wear their snow boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves because they’re going outside. I had no idea what he was up to! I was watching from our big bay window. I then saw my husband drive up to the front of the house with the four- wheeler and one of their sleds attached to the back. He threw the kids a ski rope, and told them to hang on tight! We had these huge snow drifts throughout our four acres. All I could hear were the kids giggling, laughing, and yelling, “Dad, go faster!” They were outside for hours. The cold never ceased to amaze them; they were too busy having fun. Finally, they came inside and kept asking, “When can we do this again?” I knew this was something they enjoyed, and would remember forever. On Saturday, we promised to take the kids ice fishing out on Fox Lake. We even took my sisters two younger boys along, whom had never ice fished in their lives. My husband drilled all the necessary holes. Some had tip ups in them, and the other holes the kids jigged out of. All the kids caught fish, but my sister’s two boys were so excited to see their first fish come up through the hole, that they almost dropped their jig pole and gloves down the hole. Thank god for ice scoopers and my husband’s quick reflexes. To make the day extra special, we even grilled brats out on the ice with a small propane grill. The day couldn’t have been better! On Sunday, my husband went out and bought each one of our boys their own fillet knife. He yelled upstairs to the boys, “Get down stairs, we are getting our hands dirty boys!” He handed each
