A person like Chris McCandless who has everything in the world is still unsatisfied on what is around him. He has family, money and a great education that will soon be his great future but he thinks that everything related to wealth is sinful. Chris made a journey to search for the true meaning of life and escaped it pressures. He also tried to travel by using his instincts in life by living naturally without other's aide. Whereas he helped people suffering of hunger by donating all of his college money, he forgot to help himself.

Then when she gave birth to her twins sons, she acted as if she did not want them and I believe that Cathy was selfish was because she shot her husband in the shoulder. Also Faye left all of her earnings and possessions, including the brothel to Cathy in her will. So in order to take advantage of Faye Cathy poisoned her until she died. I do not think this was right of Cathy because Faye truly seemed to care about her. If I had the opportunity to meet Catherine Amesbury or Cathy Ames I would not take it.

He was just one of the others.
Tom and Daisy the two people that stood very low in his eyes now. Daisy is Nick’s cousin a young lady who ditched Gatsby and married Tom, just because Gatsby was poor. When Gatsby came into Daisy’s life again she pretended to like him but at the end once again the result was fleeing away without saying anything. “But she and Tom had gone away early this afternoon and taken baggage with them.” (Pg-164) Daisy and Tom left the day of Gatsby’s funeral, it’s very obvious that they knew Gatsby was dead because he was so famous and this news was in newspapers as well, but they still didn’t ever bother to come see him. Hence they were cruel and selfish that’s why Nick refused to shake hands with Tom when they met again.
Myrtle wishes she was in the place of Daisy and wishes to escape to the ‘Egg’. She breaks down and cries when she finds out George borrowed the suit he wore to the wedding, which shows her wish to be married to a rich man. This is one of the reasons she has an affair with Tom Buchanan, the other being that she just wanted to have fun “ You can’t live for ever” is the way she puts it. Myrtle doesn’t treat George with any respect, when Tom is with them she is “walking through her husband as if he were a ghost”. She also states that she “made a mistake when she married him”.
