(even if you said your firm is a monopoly, think of some substitutes) Competitors for CiCi’s pizza would be Pizza Hut, Hungry Howies, or any other local pizza buffet. These firms are all perfectly competitive because they can substitute for one another. Though, many people would agree that they taste very different (in my opinion, Pizza Hut has a monopoly with those bread sticks because no one else has recreated them just right!). But tastes aside, each of these businesses offer pizza and salad buffets under $10.00
Jamie has been nicknamed the Naked Chef. Italian cooking is his strength in spite of the fact that he is popular for different foods also. When Jamie was 31 years of age, he had effectively sold over a great many duplicates of cookbooks. He had vanquished the US market, showed up in various network shows, upset school suppers in the United Kingdom and opened an eatery. Ben has taken it upon himself to be the pillar of the family. Knowing this, it does not come as much of a surprise when the reader learns that Ben decides not to tell anyone about the blood disease that is killing him, for Ben does not want to put any more stress onto his loved ones than there already is. In addition, Ben is stubborn. This is evident when the family doctor, Doctor Wagner, tries to persuade him to take treatment for his disease, but to no avail; and when he tries to get a street named after Malcolm X, even when his friends and social studies teacher tell him how ridiculous his project is. Furthermore, Ben is extremely brave; imagine trying to hide such a great and terrible secret from your loved ones for almost a year, imagine how much courage that would take.
Although, Michele never loses sight of his strong belief in the values of trust and loyalty even with his regretful selling out of Filippo to Salvatore Scardiccione and Pino’s (Papa’s) to deter him from knowing the truth but then his materialistic ways of winning him back after the truth is discovered. Michele’s first experience with the acts of betrayal is when he discovers the villager’s involvement in the kidnapping of Filippo. From this he realizes the value of trust and loyalty is far more important than money. Prior to his discovery of the kidnapping, Michele admired and looked up to all the adults in Aqua Traverse, especially his parents, Pino and Teresa. Throughout the novel we see Michele’s views and opinions of his father change dramatically with hints Ammaniti provides.
Delaney is a very organized person. Everyday he makes and eats breakfast with his family then sends Jordan to school. He would write every morning after he finishes his daily routine. Right at the beginning, Delaney has an accident with an illegal immigrant named Candido. This accident simply reveals the true values of Delaney who, though he claims to be very liberal and equally caring of all people, is content to give a seriously injured Cándido twenty dollars in exchange for just walking away and not trying to get insurance benefits out of him.

The owner of Mario’s is looking to retire and will be turning the business over to his grandson. However, like any business there have been challenges, even though the customers enjoy the uniqueness in the food, the waiting time has been a concern for the business and to the company’s profitability. Mario’s grandson must examine alternative ways to run processes and apply the learning curve concepts to test the alternative against the existing process. The objective is to increase organizational performance in order to maximize profits for Mario’s Pizzeria.
