Essay: Living on a farm to living in the city Living on a farm and living in the city both has advantages and disadvantages. Health, education, transportation are three major concerns that many consider. In this essay we will compare those three different subjects about living on a farm and living in the city. One major issue affecting many people trying to make the decision on where to live is their quality of life in either extreme. In a city, pollution surrounds you wherever you step whether on the streets of a busy financial district or on the lawn of a large park. Pollution could possibly cause health problems later in life. In the farm, pollution is scarce. Fresh air, rolling green hills, a few pieces of litter here and there but pretty much everything is clean, and no smog. In the farm, education is significantly better than in a large city; smaller class sizes and larger budgets create excellent learning environments. In the city, public schools are often packed full of students resulting in larger class sizes and no real teacher student relationship. You would be lucky if your teacher could put a name to your face. But education in the city is established with a lots modern technologies, for example, labraries, laps, internet, and others help us get information anytime we want. Transportation is very accessible in the city. Public transportation, by way of trams, ferries, busses and subways are easy and cheap ways of getting around. But the transport is very crowd and noisy. On the farm the roads are very peacefull and less crowded. On the farm it is a must to own your own vehicle. Which, when added to the cost of insurance, gas and the time of commuting, can end up being a very large expense. In the city it isn’t a must of to own your own vehicle.
