From Birth To Adolescence; My Development

1 December, 2009 My childhood was pretty average. I didn’t grow up in any special place, like near an airport, or in the projects. I lived in Berkley, Illinois for a few years, which is a suburb of Chicago just a few minutes from the city. Then I spent the remainder of my childhood in Grayslake where I currently live now. My development was pretty normal as well. I am going to discuss my physical, emotional, intellectual and language development, but I would like to start with my physical development first. The day I was born I was 7 pounds, 9 ounces. I was 50 cm tall. I didn’t cry that much after I was born, which was not a problem for my parents at all. I slept about 20 hours a day, I only woke up to eat. My parents brought me to the doctor because they thought something was wrong with me. I never cried or anything. And the doctor said “What are you complaining about?” and sent them home. I still need lots of sleep to this day, or I get crabby, so that part of me has stuck. My Dad is very, very tall. My doctors thought I would be too, but I settled at 5’11’’ right between my Mom who is 5’8’’ and my Dad who is 6’6’’. I grew very fast in my early childhood years, and slowed down once I got into middle school. I was right about the same height as all the other boys in kindergarten and pre-school, which made me happy because I didn’t feel like a loner or anything. I remember how my hair used to change color in the summer, it would get bleach blonde and I loved it. My hair doesn’t do that anymore, it stays brown all year round now. I had big feet as well; it shows because now I wear size 13. I remember when I was 4 I got the chicken pox, and it was the worst sickness ever. I had bronchitis, the chicken pox, and strep throat all at the same time; I was a very sick kid. I grew out of all that though. I loved to play outside on our swing set; it used
