Frida Kahlo de Rivera was a Mexican painter, born in Coyoacán, who is best known for herself portraits. Kahlo's life began and ended in Mexico City on July 13, 1954; in her home known as the Blue House. Frida was one of four daughters born to a Spanish Mexican Indian decent mother Matilde Calderon, a catholic and a Hungarian Jewish father Guillermo Kahlo, who was a painter and also the one Frida had more affection towards. In 1953, her exhibition occurred. A local critic wrote: “it’s impossible to separate Frida Kahlo’s life and work since her work is basically her biography”. Not long after her exhibition Frida got really sick and a year later in July 13, 1954 she passed away at the age of 47. Frida’s body was cremated and put in display in the blue house where she was born in, and also share with Diego. Shortly after her death, Diego gave the blue house to the Mexican Government so it can be turn into a museum. In my opinion I believe Frida Kahlo’s art was amazing. I believe that the techniques she used and emotions you can feel through her paintings are incredible. Frida was able to take her life experiences and portrayed them in her paintings. I believe that her style gives instant connection to a viewer, and also draws the viewer deeper to the paintings. In Frida’s paintings you can see and feel the pain and struggles, the happy and sad, and everything she went through in her life. I believe that Frida's inclination towards communism allowed her to do a great job expressing her ideas through her art. Being a Mexican female, Frida did an amazing job expressing the life she lived and felt through her art work. Frida was a great artist and her paintings will live forever and will forever impact the eyes of her art viewers all over the
