These students then do not even care because they do not think school is important. These students also said they did not have much attention given to them when dealing with their schoolwork. This also emphasized that school was not important. A large majority of dropout students were held back a grade at least once in school life. This made those students feel as if they were not
Thus the home environment is not a level playing field as it is at school. This is why homework should not be allowed. Second of all, while students are completing their homework they are getting stressed because these tasks are a large part of their grade. Stress is not a good thing. Stress can cause illnesses in later life, for example, heart disease, hair loss, whitening of hair and cancer.
If the student has learning disabilities, they will not tell anybody because they are too embarrassed to mention them and they struggle throughout school; they don’t ask for help. The second reason that high school grads are unable to read is failure of school systems. Schools are overpopulated and crowded and ones that are in large populated areas are more focused on academic functions then the curriculum of learning. They don’t have enough teachers or teacher’s assistants to give each individual one on one time to learn the material. Students don’t have that support from the teacher that they need to succeed in school.
It is because of the corrupt community that the Beckman administrative department has enforced and engraved upon the students. In an effort to enforce appreciation the members of the art community, Mr.Moon, Mr.Kollias, and Mrs.Stuck have collaborated in a series of lunch performances entitled, “The Brown Bag Theatre” which highlights some of the most talented kids at Beckman. How many people show up? On average, about 30. Beckman contains over 2,500 students, and yet only 30 could show up to support students who have spent weeks practicing for their performance!
New studies and information are showing that, despite popular belief, popularity can be harmful to students, especially after they graduate. Most students in English 102 recently finished high school and 98% of high school students are outsiders (Robbins N.P.). Before analyzing the article, I will provide some information about the authors, as well as some background on the terms “geek” and “nerd,” and the insinuations behind them. Alexandra Robbins was born in Maryland in 197. She has written five books, three of which are New York Times bestsellers, including “Why Geeks will Inherit the Earth.” She has also written a multitude of short articles about high school and college life, as well as given a series of interviews (Larschan 150).
They never read their textbooks or other learning material and they consistently cheated their way through school. The teachers in my high school did not help much, either. They did not push students to try their hardest and they did not challenge us. In my opinion, most of the students in my graduating class were not prepared for the rigorous curriculum of college. We were simply taught to pass the TAKS test, through whatever means necessary.
Two of the most common mistakes that put college students at risk for academic failure are Technology’s stimulation and Multitasking. Because most of students work very hard and live in a rush, we try to do everything at the same time, and use the technology as stimulation. Many researchers believe that the human brain can only perform one task at a same time and possibly impossible learn new information while engaging in multitasking. The necessity of technology’s stimulation can be even worse because when we get distracted by music, internet, e-mail, phone, our Intelligence Quotient reduce by 10 points. For those reasons students should create some strategies for overcoming them.

Cell Phone/Mobile Phone Should Be Banned Cell Phones should not be allowed to school. To allow mobile telephones in the classroom gives students the idea that school or college is not important. And when cells phones are allowed in class, many students will take this as an opportunity to use it. And this normally leads to disruption in class, cyber bullying and even cheating on tests or quiz. Students are in school for one main reason and that is to learn.
Having no time for out of school activities will cause students to become over weight. Extended school days plus homework will also cause students to have no time for a social life. Students will have no experience and when it comes time to get a job they will have to speak to people and socialize but they would not have any experience. There are very few jobs that do not require socializing with other people and these jobs are probably not the job the student would want. With all of the many religions, teachers would not be able to cover all of the religions and the curriculum in the school year.
