The general belief is that with a socialized system comes free healthcare. This is false, citizens would still pay for their healthcare, but indirectly, "Socialized healthcare is not really free, of course; the true cost is merely hidden, since it is paid for by taxes" (DiLorenzo). Instead of paying for health insurance from a private business, every legal citizen in America would be paying taxes in order to cover the healthcare for the entire nation. Even if a citizen did not want healthcare, they would still have to pay for it, "Under the new law, all the exits from the system are blocked. You can't opt out or buy cheap, high-deductible Acme Car-type insurance, even if that's what you need" (Goldberg).
It isn’t right for Obama Care to force everyone to get health insurance but it is the most logically because insurance companies cannot deny anyone so that everyone can be covered. There are about 32 million people who don't have health insurance. If something happens, and they have to go to the hospital, they often just don't pay the bill, and the hospital has to cover it. The democratic party made a new healthcare plan that makes health care affordable for all and if you can’t afford it then the government can most likely help you get it and this ties in well with the liberals view of the government helping the people stay protected but it also clashes with the conservatives point of view. An increasing number of Americans have opted not to take advantage of job-based health insurance because they just can’t afford it. I believe that every citizen should have adequate health coverage whether it is Universal Healthcare or National Health Insurance. If the large insurance premiums are no longer a factor and employers can increase salaries for everyone in this country, we would all be able to afford the coverage that should be a right for us. It could be a flat fee based on your family situation or just so much of your tax dollars goes towards a national insurance fund. A major argument against a nationalized health care system is that it will be inefficient.
The quality of health care that patients receive would be greatly reduced. Nationalizing health care reduces patient and doctor flexibility leading to poorer treatment of patients. Patients are not likely to curb their doctor visits and drug costs if it is free, so total costs of health care will be several times what they are now. In order to cut costs of health insurance price and salary controls on drugs, medical equipment, and medical services will probably be put into effect. People who live in countries that have nationalized health care have to wait on very long waiting lists before they are treated sometimes.

“Comparative News Story” Both the American and Chinese’s Healthcare systems are currently facing challenges. President Obama’s healthcare law is currently being analyzed by the U.S Supreme Court because there is a question of if it contradicts the constitution. Based on the article “How the Affordable Care Act Helps the U.S. Economy”, there are politicians who believe that President Obama’s healthcare law is unconstitutional. On the other hand there are citizens and other politicians who are supportive of the healthcare plan. China’s economy and citizens health is currently under fire because the universal health care spending is no longer proving a profit for the economy.
This mass expansion of health care in America must have an effect on utilization, but this effect is not yet known and is subject to vast speculation and controversy. Many people fear that the system will become overloaded and that Americans will be forced to get on waiting lists for care or perhaps deal with providers that are chosen for them. Due to the fact that the reforms force Americans that can afford health care to buy in, however, there will likely be less people cramming emergency rooms seeking free care. Perhaps the most important change in utilization forecast is the shift from treatment of disease to preventative care. The reforms and expansion of health insurance and specials provisions relating to preventative care are designed to get Americans to think about preventing disease before it happens.
I also think it should be made affordable so people can get it. It is not fair to the ones that cannot afford it. In certain countries it works in different ways. But because of the greediness of some just as in other models what started out as good ended up not being able to provide the quality care at an affordable price like was promised. This country does need health care reform but managed care is not the answer. Anytime money is the goal someone has to lose out. There has to be a way to get quality care to folks who need it at affordable prices so that people do not have to go broke just to stay
