Free College Education When you were in high school did you ever wish college were free for every one? I believe college should be free to the public. So why cannot college be free in the U.S. with all the high taxes we pay? President Clinton told graduating seniors that their degrees would be “a better investment than anything Wall Street could offer” (news article, June 11). The money we spend in on something we do not can go to one of those high school students that have it hard to get into or the money. Taxes can go to a better education, start spending it on needful things like college. There are pros and cons in making college free, in many ways. I have pros and cons about the subject at hand. We have too many people with undergrad, masters, PhDs and many people are overeducated. So why that overeducated person help others out on helping them get their higher education. All my life I was told that college is the most important in your life. Everyday I see people stressing over if they are going to college or not. I believe if college was free then we would have more people with better education. Most people could afford it in some form or another, and many would graduate with degrees with more application to the real world. Other people think we should consider making it more expensive so students are more careful about what classes they take, or whether to go to college or not. I’m one of those people that think it is already too expensive to go to college. I really do not have the money to spend on a college education. Can it be that I’m from a low class family or it just that I would be the first to graduate from high school? School is very important to me because I’m the first in my family to get this far.
