Title: Fossil Fuel Soon to Be A Fossil Speaker: Daniel Kalinowski of Coastal Carolina Community College public speaking student Specific Purpose: To inform my audience on the alternatives to fossil fuels. Thesis statement: While the rising cost of fueling your vehicle from gasoline may have you thinking about switching to a more fuel efficient vehicle, instead you may want to consider switching to an alternative fuel than gasoline altogether. There are cheaper more cost efficient fuel sources like Ethanol, Hydrogen, and Biodiesel. That may impact your everyday life more than you may think. Introduction: 1. Attention-getter: Close your eyes for a moment. Picture yourself driving down the road; you’re on your way to school. You look down at your fuel gauge in your car and the light is on, you need to stop and get gas, so you look for a gas station. But every station you pass is closed; there are no more fossil fuels! 2. Establishment of Ethos: Sometimes I stop and I think how much have I spent of gas this week. Between driving to and from to school to work and to the gym, I spend much more than I would like to admit on gas. 3. Preview: First I would like to inform you on what are the alternatives to fossil fuels. Then about how much they cost, or how much they can save you.
