Vocational education has helped some students and provided people with more qualifications so they have a better chance of getting a job but they have not reduced social inequality. Both middle class students and working class have benefited from new vocationalism. Vocational education and training schemes provides the opportunity for student who find traditional subjects harder or not interested in them, so it is an opportunity because vocational subjects are seen as easier and different more practical. These vocational subjects were free so interested working class. The reason why new vocationalim was introduced was because there were wasn’t a balance of academic jobs and practical so it was introduced to promote practical work.
Secondary The theory ignores a secondary theory, this is due to the fact that our lives are now involved in technology, to the point which we no longer are able to interact with each other, but we are able to type a message or send a video in order to communicate. Social Class: By the late 20th century people did not feel that they had to define their self, based on the success they had, an example would be that a middle class citizen would have to work hard to earn the class of middle, and that was their success, however they believed that any success they had, such as good health, was a part of them. Social Expectations: Postmodernism expected people to be able to sell different items for a profit, for example, people from the HGP (Human Genome Project) were aiming to identify the genes of a human before another, which would mean they would ‘own’ part of the human gene, which they owned and
(Williams.) Sometimes the answers were not perfectly correct but as long as you followed the proper steps to get there, you were on the right track. We were educated to do what we were told and to study from what was being taught. Even though some middle class schools do not have all the equipment to give a well maintain grounding in what profession they may be instructing, does not persuade the fact that the professor does not give 100%. As well as the professors, the parents are a huge success in the children’s success in an institution.
I do support Caroline Bird’s position that not all people should continue their education to college. College may not be for everyone. On the other hand, I’m not sure if Caroline Bird establishes the actual need for a college education in order to make any significant amount of money in the future. Although studies are done on the amount of money that people earn with a college degree, there are some cases where people who do a certain trade make the same amount of money as those with a degree. They have to work harder, but it can be done.
Who would’ve guessed it? I wasn’t a very bright a student” (107). Although her teachers had low expectations for Cisneros because of her bad grades they would have not guessed she would turn out to be a successful writer. This helps explain the idea that even though others have low expectations for you as long as you believe you can do it you can accomplish anything you set your mind to do .Lastly, throughout one’s life Great
Not a lot of people are aware of it. When in reality we should be concerned because these students are our future. One need more than a high school diploma to be independent and successful now more than ever a higher level of education is very important now-a-days to be financially stable with out struggling. There should be more help even if it’s a minority group in our society that we don’t put as much as attention as we should. We need to help this students finish their dream without
8. College prepares you for jobs but does not guarantee that you will get one after you graduate. 9. It is sometimes just as good to be an intelligent person and know about a lot of things instead of being someone who makes a lot of money.
The decision that I made many years ago, by not obtaining a post-secondary degree, has limited me on my advancement in my current career. I am at a point in my career that I cannot progress any further in my company because I do not have a degree; therefore, I am not educated enough to move into a higher position within the company. Does the fact that one has a degree make him or her any more knowledgeable than one that does not? I do not think so. This is not to say that post-secondary schooling is a waste of time, as I feel that it has many benefits.
Having an extended mind should not only make you feel smart but also proud of yourself because without you making the first start to success than how would you have gotten where you are now. Higher education is not only a better job but also a better future for you and your loved ones. I always thought having a higher education would make you look like you are trying to be better than the next until you see that it provides a better chance to making something out of your
These traits would help with obtaining a job because of the resources that are gathered as a student. Most people have trouble with finding jobs just because the lack of social skills they have. Going to college is enough, but to strive and go the extra mile to achieve the social and cultural skills is what makes student success desirable for a person. If the college provides it, why not use it? Resources are there for
