Forgiveness is Key in The Five People You Meet in Heaven Forgiveness can be hard for everyone to accept. In the novel “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom, teaches Eddie, the main character, not to forgive. The Blue Man, Ruby, and Tala teach Eddie how to forgive in some way. They all show him why he should forgive his father and himself. Eddie meets The Blue Man in the first stage of heaven. He meets Ruby in the third stage of heaven. Finally, he meets Tala in the fifth stage of heaven. In this novel “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom the theme of forgiveness is demonstrated through Eddies encounters in heaven with The Blue Man, Ruby, and Tala. The Blue Man and Eddie meet each other in the first stage of heaven. When Eddie turned 8 he was forced to go to a funeral. He really did not want to go because it was his birthday. Nevertheless, he still went whether he liked it or not. He never did know why he went. He never even knew the person, until he died. When he got to the first stage of heaven, he met The Blue Man. He remembered seeing him at the Pier when he was little. Eddie was curious about how he died so he asked. The Blue Man told him that he killed him. Eddie was astonished, he thought he did not kill him. So, The Blue Man told Eddie the story. On Eddies birthday he got a baseball. Him and his brother were playing with it outside, but Joe through it too far and it went in front of this car, The Blue Man, and he crashed into this cart and had a heart attack and died. “Eddie shook his head. ‘We were throwing a ball.
