In the Movie Forest Gump, Forests mom Ms. Gump is a people oriented listener. People Oriented listeners emphasizes concern for other peoples emotions and interests, they try to find common interest with others. If they see what they are doing makes others happy they will continue to do it. In the movie, Ms. Gump was willing to do anything to help better Forrest’s education. She wanted him to be treated normal and just like every other kid. She was so concerned about do this, she did anything to make it happen. Ms. Gump slept with Forrest’s principal. Ms. Gump said ”Remember what I told you, Forrest. You're no different than anybody else is. Did you hear what I said, Forrest? You're the same as everybody else. You are no different” The principle said “Your boy's... different, Ms. Gump. His IQ's 75”. After the mom slept with the principal he said to Forrest “Your momma sure does care about your education, son”. Forrest was put in normal class after so he could receive his full education. Ms. Gump would drop anything to help Forrest and push him to succeed in anything he dreamed of. She was always there telling him how happy and proud she was for him. She wouldn’t miss anything important, she was there when he graduated, when he goes in Veitnam War and when he came home, when he received the Medal Of Honor, when he was on TV and much more. She was always motivating Forrest to never give up. She gave him a simple pair of tennis shoes and said “ These are magic shoes, they can take you anywhere”. Forrest ran miles in these shoes and concurred so much. She had a way of telling Forrest things without making him sad. For example when Forrest asked where his dad was she simply told him that he was on vacation. Instead of just saying he was dead and making Forrest sad. When Forrest thought he was different because he had to have braces on his legs, she made sure he thought
