Learning a Foreign Language Learning a new language is not just about learning grammar and vocabulary- it is about learning new sounds, expressions, and learning how to act in another culture. Learning a new language is fun and exciting. Some people learn other languages in the country their county. Others learn the language in the country where it is native. I prefer to learn language where it is spoken. The reason is you don't waste your time. If you focus on lessons, you will not combine languages and will be more easily reachable while getting ready for lessons. I can give an example about myself. In my youth I have learned French in France. Everybody around me spoke French. As a result, I gained excellent French language. Foreign language skills can get you a job because knowing more than one language enhances opportunities in government, business, law, medicine and health care, teaching, technology, the military, communications, industry, social service, and marketing. An employer will see you as a connection to new customers if you know a second language. You are more likely to win the friendship of people whose languages you know -- even if you know them just a little. Even in Study or research you may find information about subjects you're interested in is published in a foreign language. Learning that language will give you contact to the material and allow you to talk with students and researchers in the field. Many English speakers seem to believe that wherever you go on holiday you can get by speaking English, so there's no point in learning any other languages. If people don't understand you all you have to do is speak slowly and turn up the volume.
