The West Virginia Chemical spill had occurred several times before. The government is not looking at the safety of the citizens and only at how the chemical spill could bring profit to the economy. The government was also the one to shut down all schools in the regions because they were concerned of the safety of the children. But they only shut down the school for a day because they could not afford to loose any more money in the economy then they already did. The government stated, “All business and government offices will reopen Monday.” That is a day after the chemical spill.
It wasn’t long after he stopped playing with them that he started his own group called Blackbird. They played late night gigs in local bars where he lived. This became a problem for Stevie because he was staying out late and it affected his schoolwork and he started failing. After his grades started to drop his parents made him get a job at the local Dairy Mart washing dishes. Part of his job was to clean out the trash bin, which required him to have to stand on top of 55 gallon barrels with wooden lids that were used for storing grease.
He has been in the agency for about 10 years; he goes and visits his Mother on holidays and breaks. A Psychologist comes to the house once a week and talks to James about any problems he may be experiencing in the home, at work or in his personal life. James has a team that works with him to reach goals he has set for himself and everyday the staff works with him on reaching those goals, James eventually would like to move out, get married to his girlfriend and have a family. Although he may not reach those goals, the team makes sure they work on ways for him to get to those goals as possible. For example; James wants to move so they train him on how to manage a budget.
Catherine would “forget” to feed him breakfast, and at dinner time he was to stand in the garage or the basement while the family ate. David began stealing food from kids at school just to survive. That didn’t last long, as the school started to catch on to the missing lunches, which led to phone calls from the principal home to Catherine. That led to less food at home for David, as well as many more beatings. David no longer existed in his family, and he was now referred to as “The Boy”.
My final project with Chesapeake Childcare Department was to create a grid to track the vendor visits by the Social Workers and to work with the workers on the training seminar. The vendor training seminar was a gear towards getting all the credentials up-to-date in our records and to have all the memorandum agreements signed, which are used to pay the vendors. The Department of Human Services service almost 36,000 residents each year. The people we serve are those who suffer hardship or who have been unable to participate fully in social and economic life of the community. We provide cash aid for people in need through a network of local, state, and federal assistance programs.
“We also noticed dried food on her face where they had not washed it after meals. We also noticed bruising to her legs.” Mrs Ryall said she and sister Cheralyn Greenaway became worried last week after they discovered that their grandfather’s wedding ring and their grandmother’s necklace were missing. She said: “We looked for her necklace and could not find it and went straight to the manager and saw the Care Quality Commission inspector there so we reported it to them.” The Care Quality Commission carried out an inspection at the home last week and the report is due to be issued within several weeks. The regulator has been in meetings with the local
There was a particular break between letters from Abigail to John because she was very busy dealing with the day to day life back home. As soon as she had a chance to reply she did by telling John about the situation that was occurring back home. In the letter, she described how a harsh drought in June has cause the farm to lose many of its promising crops and the lack of food it provided, but in July things turned around on the farm when rainfall came and the crops started looking good again. In the letter, she also discusses the children health. She informs him that both Nabby and Johnny suffered from a distemper that caused damage to their eyes but she reassures him that once the children are back health they will write him.
My friends Bethany and Hannah went to the hospital with me every week. Some of my other friends who had their license would give me a ride to my appointments if my parents or grandparents could not take me. They would also sit in the waiting room when I was having tests done, like when I had to have surgery for them to have samples of my tissue or when I had to have x-rays or an MRI. They also helped me through out the school year, they helped me carry my things and helped me walk to and from classes. Sometimes they would talk to me about it if I was having a bad day because of it.
It was almost dark outside when my whole town and most of North Alabama lost power. I was not prepared at all since we didn’t have power again for five or six days. If it was not for friends and family I don’t know what I would do. I have learned my lesson and I now have a seven day disaster box backed for each person in my family. In this box we keep bottle water, dry goods, personal care items, copies of important papers and so
