Browning over-exaggerates the features and beauty of the nature of England almost making them come alive with her use of personification. The poem is very descriptive and also plays on all the five senses. She shows the sense of taste with the use of the word ‘sweeter’ in line 12, ‘ Made sweeter for the step upon the grass’ and also line 20, ‘Fed full of noises by invisible streams,’ the sense of hearing is shown using the word ‘noises.’ Browning also used the repetition to give the reader a sense of continuity. She shows that nature is evergreen and will be omnipresent in this world. This can be seen with the repetition of words like ‘the’ and ‘and’.
The fragrance that drifted in the air was a mixture of sensual, tangy, and sweet flowers. The exquisite afternoon was complemented with the salty and balmy air. Enthralling rhythmic waves performed entrancing music. Lush coarse sand carpeted the ground. These unforgettable impressions made the brilliant beach in an extraordinary place to visit.
He starts talking about the flowers and how beautiful they are, and this makes Elisa feel beautiful and valued. A stranger is noticing her “place”, her hard work. When he offers to take the chrysanthemums out of the garden, off the farm, some place to grow, she is elated. “Beautiful” (690). “Oh beautiful” (690).
The creature’s graceful movement entranced me, I was spellbound by its magnificent beauty. As I followed the butterfly, the world around me began to transform. The desert shrubs around me began reaching towards the heavens, becoming mammoth green oaks. Green grass sprung forth from the desolate soils, flowers blossomed around the newborn plants and its sweet scent replaced the choking haze I had become so accustomed to. Suddenly I was in a different world.
Nick describes Gatsby’s memories of the romance and describes “romances that were not musty and laid away in lavender but fresh and breathing”. (Fitzgerald, 158) This phrase brings to mind clear images of flowers, because they are often “laid away already in lavender” to dry out over time. The use of “fresh and breathing” could also be used to describe a flower, and that during the time of Gatsby and Daisy’s initial romance their relationship was just blooming, and was very fresh and new to both of them. The language in this passage is beautiful and sensual. Fitzgerald describes “dancers whose flowers were scarcely withered” (Fitzgerald, 158) and “an air of breathless intensity” (Fitzgerald, 158), using the language as a parallel to the tone of the passage and the feeling of the romance between Gatsby and Daisy.
ALGONQUIN PARK The most beautiful place to visit during spring is Algonquin Park, Ontario. A large green meadow sincerely welcomes me as I stand in the luscious green grass I look at the gorgeous sight in front of me. The vast wilderness area provides many different kinds of wild flowers that grow in the mountains and meadows. They include elegant yellow daisies, beautiful violet tulips, and narcissus which put forward the most delicious smells. Looking at these graceful flowers that twist in the wind, nature is like a bride walking down a hallway.
Opening the daily newspaper I expected to find advertisements, wanted convicts, and local stories, instead I found out about the governments next development called the World Health Organization (“World Health Organization”). Knowing that most of my squadron in the war died of unsanitary health conditions, I sat in my living room relieved for the first time since the war. Three years following the defeat of Germany and Japan, it’s really good news to discover the governments concern involving the unsanitary health treatments during the war and throughout the United States (“Health and Disease”). I read that the World Health Organization is established for the main purpose to improve health conditions and promote social economic development around the United States and the world (“World Health Organization”). For the first time ever, the World Health Organization is dedicated to defending against outbreaks of disease through improving health security around the nation (“World Health Organization”).
Hawaii State History JMJ Landon Lee, State History, 8th grade, 1st Qtr Hawaii, “The Paradise of the Pacific”, or, the “Aloha State”, has many natural resources such as plants, trees, animals, and wildlife; some are invasive. You might say why or how is it paradise? It is “Paradise” because of the nice warm year- round temperatures, the beautiful blue ocean, the swaying trees and plants, the mighty mountains covered in forest, the animals or the birds, or all of the above. Let’s start off with the plants and trees. Aleurites moluccana is the state tree, or commonly referred to as the Kukui or candlenut tree.
The good I see in Oxnard is that we are right by the beach, so that gives us beautiful comfortable weather almost everyday. We are also well known for our strawberries and all the fields we have here. Although there could be room for improvement In Oxnard, such as making it a little bit more cleaner and trying to eliminate the graffiti and the gangs. Nevertheless Oxnard is my home and I come to love it just the way it is.
Sarah Campbell English composition 101 2/28/12 My Very First Trip to Florida Keys My very first trip to the Florida Keys, Started with a long Nineteen hour drive; full of many pit stops, and rest stops. When I arrived at the house we had rented along the island. The sandy beach met the water, and made it look like something out of a fairy tale. It was around 3.30 in the morning; I quickly unpacked the car, and headed to bed. The first days of my visit had me Awestruck, but sadden to leave.
