On a cloudy, cold day in April of 2007 I made the decision to talk to a recruiter for the Marines. When I arrived at the recruiting office I was more nervous than I’ve ever been I kind of didn’t know why I was there. I sat in my car listening to the radio for about twenty minutes before I got the courage to walk into the office. When I finally made it in to the office that was covered in Marine Corps posters I was greeted by a very intimidating man he was about six foot five inches tall, bald head, at least two hundred and twenty pounds of muscle with tattoos on his arms. He was one of the biggest guys I’ve ever seen.
Elementary Transitions by Nathan Easton Rachelle Costello: English 093 March 3, 2012 It is fall of 1986 and I am a third grader at Monroe Elementary School in South Bend, Indiana. Lining up outside before school was what all the third graders would do every morning. I can remember some mornings smelling like burned leaves and brisk cold air, but for the most part, I just wanted the doors to open to the school, so I could get warm. My Elementary School was an acoustical stone slate and brick building, perfect for hearing your voice echo in the hallways. The school smelled of dank brick and slate flooring every time I entered the building,
Why I would like to be a Link Crew Leader It has been a year since the first day I had stepped into this school, however, I clearly remember how I felt and acted as if it was yesterday. It was the first day of school and I was going to be in a new school as a freshmen; I was very nervous and was trembling with fear. As I was walking through the unknown hallways my mind was filled with millions of questions. Such as where my class rooms were, who were my teachers, and where was I. It took me a long time to figure out where I was supposed to be and how to get there.
Safety at CSUN Dear Officer Vanscoy, Imagine a student who carries an expensive laptop to school everyday. One particular week she has numerous tests and essays to complete. Instead of heading home after a long day of Friday classes, she heads to the dining hall and has a meal and does some work for a couple of hours. On the way to her car later that night, that expensive laptop catches the eye of a young gentleman, who continues to follow her to her car. Unfortunately this situation was a true scenario, but luckily, it didn’t go further than the student feeling very uncomfortable.
Bullied It all started September 2001 I had just moved from Jersey City Heights to the Journal Square area. While I was living in the Heights I was attending number six school where I had many friends and got along with almost everyone. Then the day came where my mom said we had to move and I had to attend a new school. At the time I was only six years old. I then began attending number eleven school where I made one friend only because she lived down the block from where I just moved.
Rite of Passage BSHS 342 September 19, 2011 Babara Kennedy Rite of Passage A high school boy, 16 years old passed his math exam. Math was not Robert’s favorite subject so he had to study really hard for it. His parents said how well he was studying and promised to teach him how to drive if he gets a B and would give him a car if he gets an A in his finals and if he passes the driving test. Robert literally spent time in the library daily receiving extra tutoring from a friend John, he meets at the library. Robert forgot about his x-box and had less time for his friends Mike and Sean, who didn't think he needed to study as hard as he was doing.
It had finally arrived the day of my first day of school, that night I hardly slept at all I was nervous of course who wouldn´t be. I arrived at the gates of school with all the hundreds of students from all different grades, I went to the front office where a lady took me to homeroom and I was told the students where in a break; so I just waited in the classroom for the bell to ring, just waiting for all the students to rush in and see a new face in their class. After a while the bell finally rang and students started walking into class and they all looked at me until they sat down, the teacher came up to the front of the class and as every other teacher
Like most people who were old enough at that time, September 11th is a day that I vividly remember to this day. I remember exactly where I was when I found out about these attacks, what I saw and heard on that day, and how it made me feel. On the morning of September 11th, I was sitting in my fifth grade class when I first heard about the events that were taking place. I remember another school staff member running into our class and telling my teacher what was happening. We didn’t have a cable connection in our classroom so my teacher lined my classmates and I up to move to another classroom.
Have you ever told a lie and enjoyed it, but in the end it comes back to bite you back? This happened to me in eighth grade at Kepner Middle School. That year was so chaotic for me. Me bringing illegal contents and being caught didn't help. The last week of school before Christmas break, I walked into the big halls of the school.
My First Day at Houston Community College The very first day I attended Houston Community College, I was very nervous and fearful. I was fearful because I have been out of the education system for thirty-seven years. I did not feel comfortable in the environment around me. My first class that semester was math 0306. Professor Glasca walked in, handed out the syllabus, called the roll, and began his lecture.” Learning the Steps of Mathematics “was the topic for the day.
