Brandon Ely English10 IOCPS 10/21/13 PERSONAL NARATIVE Have ever went somewhere and wanted to stay forever? That same thing happened to me when I first got up here and went camping at Greenleaf State Park, Which is located 24.2 miles from Muskogee, Oklahoma. Before I went there I went to Wal-Mart to buy some new chairs and a bigger tent, which was a week before I went camping. Once I got there I kept saying that the park is so beautiful that I wanted to live there. Greenleaf has all sorts of neat little things there.
As a child, every fall, my parents would take me and my siblings camping. Dad worked a lot, so we counted down the days of summer, until we got to be together. Every breath I took was like I was inhaling my childhood. I could hear the waves bouncing off the rocks as we sat on the patio and had lunch. The smell of the water and the warmth that touched my skin, when the sun peeked through the clouds, took me back in time to the campground.
| | | MODERN HUNTING | The American Way | | William Wallace | DeVry University Modern Hunting: The American Way Martin and his best friend Chris had unloaded the last boxes out of the moving van. Although it had been a long arduous day, the gratification of completing the move into Martin’s new house lessened the overwhelming impact of fatigue and weariness of their bodies and minds. Martin chose this area to live in because his new house bordered a wooded area of state-owned land that was prime hunting grounds. As they both surveyed the property and the woods beyond, Chris spotted movement at the edge of the tree line. A white tailed buck with an ‘eight point rack’ appeared out of the deep green underbrush meandering
Justin Webb October 21st 2012 Professor Olsen English 1113 Second Chance The story starts off on a bright blue skied sunny day in the pacific northwest, its Thanksgiving day and the plan was to go up to Grandma’s house which is approximately 35 minutes up the Washougal river road in Washougal Washington. In my car it was three of my best friends and I these aren’t just your ordinary friends they were my family. The friends I’ve grown up with, went on vacations with and was always with them 24/7. We load up the civie, my car, the classic 2004 red Honda civic that everyone seems to get for his or her first car. We set off on our adventure and as always we are blasting music being kids driving up the long windy scenic drive that the Washougal river road is.
So after we put it on the rock’s we had to put all the stuff back in our canoe and we got lucky because a little bit of are stuff got wet that was all. Next, were on are way to our next place we were camping at. Well it was very stormy so we had to pull over. Well when we were just waiting for it to stop raining, we were all eating lunch it was good we had beef jerky and some fruit mix So it stopped raining and we went to our next place.
They were all really nice and told us we were going to have a fun time at the campground. The next day we headed to a clearing in the woods with one of the campground leaders and we did a lot of team building activities. We stood on a log and had to order ourselves alphabetically without talking or falling off the log. we fell about five times but I had a lot of fun doing that. The next activity all of us had to stand on a platform and we had to use these two planks to get to another platform about fifteen feet away.
Nicolas Arreola Ms. Uwanawich English 2H Period 6 4 September 2012 The Dropout It was Sunday morning and summer had just begun, my parents decided to make a trip to Ranging Waters that day. The temperature was rising to its peek and I had never wanted to feel the cold wet water splash in my face so badly like today. It was around 9a.m when we left the house and headed to Ranging Waters. The trip was almost an hour but didn’t seem like an hour more like half. Well, once we had arrived there was literally no parking what’s so ever, but we were lucky enough to find a perfect parking and not walk that far.
Art History 3600 Karen Senne July 13, 2013 A very interesting Wednesday It was the beginning of September, when I had a very unexpected and interesting Wednesday, let’s say one that will be in my memory forever. That Wednesday morning was just another normal morning; I had breakfast and got ready for classes. That morning was a very sunny morning and I was very excited. On Wednesdays I only had class till 4pm, Thus I could go outside and enjoy the rest of that beautiful sunny day. One of my favorite outside activities is hiking, mainly here in the west there are so many amazing places to explore and appreciate the amazing nature.
On Saturdays we would have game night or visit my grandparents and spend time at their house. I’m so excited for our family vacation this summer because where going camping and spending time on the outdoors. My sister and I never been camping before so it would be our first time. My mom just got back from work and was going to make dinner but there wasn’t any food in the refrigerator. We drove to "Mom & Pop" Grocery Store to buy some food for dinner.
