Our world today is full of unsolved, divisive and controversial issues. Most of them relate to our morals, ethics and religion, thus creating a very strong yes, no, good or bad side. Abortion is one subject most people feel negatively about. It’s immoral, all conclusions made about abortion are negative, and they all show the downside, abortion should be banned. This individual has a fundamental right to life, which must be protected (“Pro & Con Arguments: “Should Abortion Be Legal?”” par. 2). To many the thought of killing an innocent unborn child as a form of contraceptive is wrong and inhumane. Since 1969, the CDC requests information from health agencies to do surveillance on the number and characteristics of women who legally abort a child (Pazol; pg. 1). The minute fertilization occurs, cells form to make a human being, although this clump of cells cannot feel pain, it has a heartbeat and blood flowing through it. The continuing argument that aborting a baby is inhumane because the baby can’t speak for itself starts here. All women feel differently after an abortion. Some women may feel regret, others may feel relief, some may be happy, and others may be confused on how they feel. The way a person feels about the abortion is based on how they feel about the child growing inside of them. Some of the common emotional side effects are suicide, alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and neglect(“Abortion Risks: a list of major psychological complications related to abortion,” par 4).
