"Labor omnia vincit" or "Work conquers everything", words from the book of Landa Jocano (1993). She further described work as a human activity which not only transforms the individual but also perfects himself. Work plays a key role in the social life, not only as the primary source of income, but also as a base for social participation, social status, consumption, health, family life and so on (Roe and Ester, 1999). Work transcends all nations, genders and races; it is universal and equal among individuals. Oftentimes, it is treated as the center of the lives of many people. As the center, it also serves as the channel and reflection of the personality, behavior and values of the individual. The identified characteristics and behavior of the person displays at work, is used as a mean of describing the kind of person that he or she is. His nature a person may also be viewed in the light of understanding his or her values. Countries differed with the meanings they attach to work (www.wu.ac.at). Work is a social statement that the individual used to define his status in the society. In other countries like China, the nature and level of position at work is identified by the academic background. While in Saudi Arabia, the dirty works were assigned to those who have low social -economic status. Contrastingly, the Filipino is the product of his own environment, says Jocano (1993). He has been molded into what he is now. Our patterns of behavior have been imbedded in his mind so that his actions are influenced by its cultural background. Such a pattern is embedded in the Filipino's mind so that his actions are in accordance with his past experiences directly or indirectly (Jocano, 1993).
