Joseph Williams & Carter Trainer 1/28/13 3rd Holder Fiji Why? Fiji has beauty, solitude and is a great place to live due to weather, geography and culture. With surrounding beaches, the Fijian lifestyle is the way anyone would want to live. Religion Most of the country’s religions are based off Christianity and Hinduism, but there are smaller religions practiced in Fiji like Sikhism, Confucianism, and others. Language The language in Fiji is mostly English but do speak other languages like Fijian and Hindi. Military The Fiji military have a total active man power of 3,500 to 6,000 soldiers. Population The population of Fiji is 868,406 people inhabiting 110 of the 330 islands and 1/3 of the population is in the capital Suva. Surrounding Area Surrounding countries from closest to farthest: Tuvalu, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Solomon Islands, Nauru, New Zealand, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Federated States of Micronesia, Australia, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Brunei, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, North Korea, Vietnam. Fiji’s head of state is the president. President is elected by the Great Council of Chiefs after consulting with the prime minister. Fiji is multiracial and live amongst each other in harmony.
