When someone commits a crime, many people look at him as if he is being brought to justice. But, what is justice? Justice to many people it is getting what a person deserves. So the good are rewarded and the wicked have to suffer the punishment for their actions. So justice is fair treatment of people. But if we are supposed to be fair then why do we have poor people? Shouldn’t everyone have the same possessions as everyone else?
Regarding justice, Jesus says in (Psalms 33:5) that God loves righteousness and justice. Also in (Isaiah 61:8) Jesus says that he hates robbery and wrong. I believe that God wants us to always do what is right because we are all trying to survive and those who do wrong need to be punished. In (Deuteronomy 19:18) it talks about if a man accusing someone falsely, then you should accuse him falsely like he tried to do to his brother.
Do not take advantage of a poor hired man because he counts on his wages to survive (Deuteronomy 24:14-15).God doesn’t want us to take advantage of the poor just because you have the money and power to do so. If one of your brothers were to become poor you shouldn’t harden your heart but you should open your hands to him (Deuteronomy 15:7).God wants us to help those in need just like God redeemed us when we were in need from enslavement in the land of Egypt (Deuteronomy 15:15).
This has told me that when I work not to work to become self-prosperous and greedy, but to help those less fortunate. I figure that god treats everyone the same no matter their circumstances are. This makes me think about how I treat people like my friends differently than people that I don’t know that well. I think that this means that I should be aware that everyone has different things happening in their life and not just my life.
I’ve got out of this that numerous scripture passages make giving as a main part of living justly. So a
