Natalie Hernandez 3/12/2009 My Favorite Movie Annie directed by John Huston (1982) The story of “Annie”; a courageous little girl, has a significant meaning to me and to a lot of other girls growing up in my era. It illustrates the struggles of children whom have nothing and how people of wealth or better means consider helping them. Some individuals like “Daddy Oliver Warbucks” help the needy only to benefit themselves. I saw this movie for the first time when I was five years old, and I didn’t quite appreciate it at that age, the only motive for watching it was the sing-along songs. I only saw it about 100 more times after that and began to realize the importance behind it. This musical begins to evolve when Annie gets sent to Daddy Warbucks for a “proper” public appearance. He would’ve never expected that a little orphan such as Annie would be able to grow on him, put a smile on his face and open his heart. For Annie, it was not easy being able to grow up without her parents, for Oliver Warbucks , he was introduced to a different kind of love. Pure and honest love. This movie means alot to me because I was the youngest of four daughters and I had to grow on my father. My parents got divorced when I was only 5 years old. I had to prove my honesty and my love to him just like Annie did. Today my dad is my best friend and the only person who will always understand what I am feeling just by looking at
