Fashion Designer vs. Interior Designer My dream job is a Fashion Designer. My realistic job is an Interior Designer. Fashion Designer and Interior Designer are both jobs in the designing industry, yet a Fashion Designer is a more famed and recognized occupation than an Interior Designer. Fashion Designer and Interior Designer are both excellent career choices, however an occupation as an Interior Designer is a better option because it is a less competitive career and there is always a need for Interior Designers. The Job of an Interior Designer is very important. They are expected to plan, design, and create an environment, in which their client will feel comfortable and would be able to enjoy. Interior designers make interior spaces functional, safe, and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting, and materials. Many work for design services, while about 25% are self-employed (Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2014-15 Edition, and Interior Designers).An interior designer should be able to communicate with clients, learn their style, and what they want and like and be able to incorporate that into a specific budget, room space, and décor. Interior designers typically render design ideas in the form of drawings, use computer aided drafting and related software to produce construction documents. Also, they coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects engineers, and plumbers, to ensure job success. Estimating material requirements and costs and presenting the design to the client for approval is a very important part in the job of an interior designer (Occupational Information Network: Interior Designers).
