Deciding which major is right for you can be the hardest thing in life that a person can come across. The career you decide to follow will represent your life and will go on from there. After long research and sufficient resources Fashion Merchandising is the career I’ve decided to pursue. “The glitz at fashion shows and on the pages of the fashion magazines is the culmination of many creative and analytical activities, market research, and hard work.” (Patricia Ragia). Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) offers this career in which I plan to attend and obtain my degree. By the end of this paper everything, including information on the school, enrolling/salary, and what to expect in this field is clearly stated. The five-year college I have chose to continue my career is at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). This school offers degrees such as: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Architecture, Master of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Fine Arts and Master of Urban Design degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certificates at 4 different locations (http://www.scad.edu/about/history.cfm). I was happy to hear that “class sizes are small, allowing each student the opportunity to receive individual attention.” Per academic year: $24,390 for undergraduates and $24,840 for graduate students (http://teenfashion.about.com/od/fashioncareerseducation/p/schools_scad.htm). This school is also said to be home for More than 10,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Approximately 10 percent of the student body is international.
