Valedictorian address 2005 The journey through life is one that nobody goes through alone. Whatever people may accomplish, those accomplishments were achieved only through the combination of their own personal drive and motivation and the love and support given to them from the people around them. Therefore, I must begin by acknowledging all those that have been so instrumental in bringing me to where I am today. Most importantly I have to thank God and Rev. Moon, my spiritual guidance counselors, and my parents, grandmother, and other family that have been there supporting me all my life, I could not have done anything without you and you have taught me so much.
But I want to point one girl out that has left a huge impact on my life. Kenzie. You have been my number one supporter, a best friend, and a teammate. After every game I could not wait to get a text from you telling me what I did well and how much you loved me. I don’t think you understand how much you have mentally helped me this year.
Experiencing the works of Britney first hand is the most amazing feeling in the world. The way that she moved up on stage and got the crowd going really made me look up to her as a role model. Her vocals and the way she interacted with us made it such an enjoyable experience. If I had to choose to see anyone in the world for my first concert I would say her name without hesitation. Even through the chaos within her life, I still listen to her music.
I then realized once more how incredibly lucky I was to be able to have a baby and the chance to love, care, and nurture him. In the back of my mind I knew choosing adoption for my child would be the most loving and unselfish decision that I could make. My child would be able to have all the opportunities and experiences that I want for
“If there is no struggle there is no progress,” these words spoken by Fredrick Douglas, reflect the essence of my families’ motivation to stay strong and always peruse a better life. This quote is especially significant to me because it reflects my drive and passion to achieve my own dreams in life. My parents played a major role in inspiring me to help other people, and to work hard to achieve my goals; they thought me by example. I realized that I have been blessed to have the parents that I do. I deeply value what they have thought me: the strength, integrity, and compassion for others.
Once again tears had filled my eyes knowing that this rally had truly made a difference in the community. Just like my teacher has inspired me to become a Special Education teacher, I want to inspire the rest of the community to do what you believe in. If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish it just like I did. And I promise, you will never forget the feeling. It’s the best feeling I have ever
My goals which are now set farther and I have more determination to succeed. Takalah has instilled courage in me and made me believe in myself. I don’t know what my life would be without my niece. Takalah has given me the empowerment to becoming a better person and aunt to my niece. On January 3, 2003, was the most monumental day of my life; to me a greater accomplishment than graduating any college or obtaining any degree is being the best aunt I can be to my niece.
I will proudly wear my ‘Firebird Pride’ into college next year, along with all of the redeeming qualities I have learned from all of my experiences. I would not trade my high school experience for any other school because Kettering has presented infinite opportunities for me to grow as a person, an athlete, and a member of the
Her "shoot for the moon" attitude make me want to work harder and reach for more ambitious goals. Thanks to Ms. Morrow, our Women's and Mixed choirs made it to state level competitions last year. She has given me the guidance to follow my dreams and the power to overcome anything that makes life an obstacle. I also have been given the opportunity to participate in the 2010-2011 All-State Women’s Choir thanks to Ms. Morrow. I will truly miss her after graduating high
I think we were meant to be best friends. It's always good to have a mentor in your life that teaches and experiences things with you that nobody else can. This is why I picked Kayla as my mentor. Hopefully we stay best friends for the rest of our
