TWO FAMOUS THINKERS TITILAYO OGUNLANA PHL/458 August 20, 2012 RUSSELL WARNER When thinking of great famous thinkers I think it is someone that uses his or her mind creatively. Many famous thinkers have either found a solution to a problem or have changed people’s way of thinking or changed people’s attitude towards an issue or issues. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bill Gates are two famous thinkers who each used their creative minds to change the way people think and their attitude towards societal issues. They each made their own specific impact on society. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 and was a very busy man in his time because he was a clergyman, an activist, and prominent leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the development of civil rights in the United States and around the world, using nonviolent methods following the teachings of his mentor Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Martin Luther King, Jr. has become a national icon in the history of modern American free thinking. Personally, Martin Luther King, Jr. possesses a strong sense of duty and has a tendency to be dis contented at times, so, sometimes he behaves on the belief that the world is a place in which everyman is for his or her self. Yet Martin Luther King, Jr. has a sensitive personality and wants very much to be accepted. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born into a family rooted deeply into the southern black ministry. While in college, Martin Luther King, Jr. decided to follow in the footsteps of his mentor Benjamin Mays who was a gospel activist fighting against racial inequality. Bill Gates, born in 1955, is self-proclaimed billionaire and an American computer entrepreneur. In 1975 he co-founded Microsoft, a private company for the manufacture and sale of computer software.
