Faith and reason are two different things that many people think cannot coexist, I believe that faith and reason or religion and science can thrive together. I think that both are made available to explain different things. Religion, can possibly explain the ‘why’ we are here on Earth. While on the other hand science or reason can explain ‘how’ we ended up on Earth or how the Earth came into existence. Many people believe that there is only one correct answer, either faith or reason. I do not believe that because like previously stated, they both help to explain two different aspects of life. I think that it is possible for any religious person to believe strongly in God and also agree that science plays a certain part in it all and that some of it is logical and true. Although I think people should realize that faith helps reason and that reason helps faith, I do not think that they will ever peacefully coexist. They are too big of topics to have such an resolution, as everyone is constantly arguing over which one is truly correct. I also think that we need both to live lives as healthy human beings, conflict is something that fuels humans in everyday life and makes us who we are. Even if there was no conflict involved between them, I still agree that in order to live peaceful and healthy lives both, faith and reason must be talked about. Many Catholics or religious people in general, are opposed to reason or science because they think that it cannot coexist with God. Fides et Ratio states, “Reason can show that there is a God and can demonstrate his primary attributes such as his power and divinity. Reason lays the foundation for faith and makes revelation ‘credible.’ Reason is thus the common ground between believers and unbelievers.” This quote explains
