Failure: A Pillar to Success Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. This speech decided to explain how I believe that failure leads to success. When we fail at something, we get back on our feet and reach for our goals. The purpose of my speech is to show people that failing is not a bad thing; it is the pillar to success. Because there are many people who giving up after failing at something, and what they don’t know is that everyone has to climb the ladder of success, and before anyone reaches the top, they fail along the way. I begin this speech in advocating Albert Einstein’s quote “Anyone who has never made mistake has never tried anything new”. Yes it’s true. Because I believe that failure leads to success. There is no doubt in my mind that one cannot succeed without failing. People view failure as a step back or as a halt in progress, but I cannot disagree more. Failure is actually a step forward progress towards your goal. Throughout history brilliant minds have said things like “Never, never, never give up”. Never giving up greatly increases your chances of success. Never giving up means you repeatedly fail and learn from your mistakes and move on. We accept failure as progress in which we get closer and closer to our goal as we learn more and more how to succeed. I believe through determination and the knowledge gained from previous failures, you can only reach success. No matter how many times we fail at something, there’s always that strength of mind to do better next time. Each and every pathway we go down in life is a learning experience. After the hard times, you’ll feel stronger which helps create the person you are trying to be today. I remembered when I was a child and the first time I rode a bike, I usually fell down which left me discouraged.
